Jon Jones is retired. Tom Aspinall is now the UFC undisputed heavyweight champion. Well, this looks like quite the peaceful ending to the Jones-Aspinall saga. But unfortunately, it isn’t. The heat between the two is not going away anytime soon. At least that is what we can make after Aspinall and Jones traded blows. And this time, the topic was much more complicated than fighting each other. Aspinall decided to take a dig at Jones’ PED usage!
In a recent interaction with Ariel Helwani, Aspinall called Jones a “piece of sh*t.” He also went on to say that Jones should not have been allowed to compete after being found positive for PEDs. Surely enough, this did not sit well with Jones. The former champion hit back at Aspinall. Jones stated that he never took steroids. And it was because of him that the rules were changed.
“I never took steroids. The evidence is all there. Hence why I was able to fight again and the rules have been changed for everyone across all sports. Call me the game changer,” said Jones.

Surely, things are looking quite heated up between the two at the moment. Meanwhile, Aspinall was not the only one questioning his PED status.

“We’ve never been stripped. And then look at somebody who has been stripped. I’m not saying Jon Jones didn’t do great things — he was an amazing athlete. Name one athlete that is considered the greatest of all time in a sport that’s failed a drug test. You get disqualified,” said Johnson.
