Jon Jones is regarded as one of the top fighters in the UFC. With significant dominance over his opponents, Jones has been the UFC heavyweight champion for a long time. Thus, ‘Bones’ getting dropped in a fight is quite a rare sight. But according to the champ, there were two occasions when a fighter was able to get the better of him.
In a recently released video, Jones pointed out two instances when he got dropped. While both were during his sparring sessions, the first was by a UFC middleweight, Mike Massenzio. This was when Jones was relatively new in the MMA realm. However, the next instance was more brutal. Jones stated that a fighter named Adlan Amagov delivered a stunning spinning back kick to Jones’ stomach. The impact immediately knocked him out cold.
“I would say Adlan knocked me out for sure. He caught me with a spinning back kick to the stomach… Yeah, he knocked out me and Carlos the same day… pretty impressive young man,” said Jones.

Jones further stated that it was after this day that he stressed more on the spinning backkick. And Jones executed the move to perfection at UFC 309, knocking out Stipe Miocic cold. Meanwhile, the current situation with Jon Jones is quite chaotic. With his reluctance to fight Tom Aspinall, Alexander Volkov took a shot at the UFC.
Alexander Volkov Details Why UFC Is Putting Up With Jon Jones

Jon Jones has made it clear that he is not interested in fighting Tom Aspinall. And with so many days of inactivity, there have been rumors about Jones being stripped of his belt. However, that hasn’t happened yet. And fellow UFC heavyweight Alexander Volkov knows exactly why. He opined that Jones brings in an impressive amount of revenue. And this might be the reason why he is still the champion.

“Jon Jones generates a lot of money for the organization. From a financial standpoint, he’s good for business. Even with his current status, he brings attention,” Volkov told Red Corner MMA. He’s done, and is still doing, much more for the UFC than any of us,” said Volkov.
Alexander Volkov says he understands why the UFC hasn't stripped Jon Jones of his championship belt, even though he admits that from a purely sporting perspective, it would make sense.
