In many sports, fans have often witnessed athletes earning massive fortunes, only to lose everything due to poor financial decisions. From Mike Tyson to Hulk Hogan, countless stars have experienced tremendous wealth followed by bankruptcy. However, it seems that former UFC fighter Muhammad Mokaev has learned from their mistakes. Mokaev claims he has already achieved financial freedom despite Dana White’s company releasing him.
Recently, in a conversation with Home of Fight, Muhammad Mokaev addressed his goals following his release from the UFC due to alleged misconduct. He shared that his primary focus now is on competing and avoiding distractions, as staying active in competition is what keeps him motivated to train. Mokaev also revealed that he is financially secure at this stage in his life, having made smart investments that would allow him to retire comfortably if he chose to.
“I wanna just compete and stay away from (distractions) and stay focused. Because if I don’t compete I don’t see myself training. I’am at the stage of my life financially…I can finish my career and just sit and chill. I invested everything. I did everything smart,” he said.

Indeed, it’s quite interesting that despite having only 13 professional fights, none of which he has lost, Muhammad Mokaev has already achieved financial stability to the point where he no longer needs to work.
While it often takes athletes years, or even decades, to reach such a status, Mokaev’s rapid success raises curiosity. It remains to be seen whether he will share the specifics of his financial strategy, which could serve as a valuable lesson for other athletes.

A few months ago, Mokaev admitted to offering to cover the costs of his actions at the hotel and even fight his next bout in the UFC for free as a way to make amends. He acknowledged the behavior as unprofessional, describing it as something that had been weighing on him for a long time. Mokaev believes he has learned a valuable lesson from the incident and now hopes for a return to the UFC.
Indeed, as an undefeated fighter and a solid prospect with much to offer, it will be interesting to see whether Dana White decides to give Mokaev another chance. For now, he’s keeping his head down and doing what he needs to do—staying focused and committed to training.
