Magomed Ankalaev earlier mentioned that Alex Pereira might have been done. However, it looks like ‘Poatan’ is raring to come back with vengeance. Losing the light heavyweight title in a heavily disputed decision, Pereira wants to take it back. But having gotten a taste of being the champion, Ankalaev is desperate to keep the glory to himself. And now, he has also sent a strong warning to the former champion.
Ankalaev has been constantly attacking Pereira verbally. Now, in a recent statement on social media, the Russian hinted at a fight in October. Previously, Pereira had teased a return during the September-November timeline. Reflecting on the same, Ankalaev claimed that he will have no mercy on Pereira. He also vowed to end his career once the rematch concluded.
“October I will close the page and this guy career no mercy,” Ankalaev wrote.

This is not the first time Ankalaev has verbally shunned Pereira. In earlier statements, the UFC light heavyweight champion claimed that Pereira was retired. He also accused ‘Poatan’ of being afraid of him after Pereira turned down a fight in the International Fight Week. Surprisingly, Alex Pereira does not seem to be paying any heed to Ankalaev’s words.

“He’s promoting himself by saying my name. No one knows he’s the champion, so when he says my name he appears a little. But I’m not responding to his provocations, because I know it’s just for promotion. I’ll respond when the time is right,” said Pereira.
