Talking on Bowks Talking Bouts, Shawne Merriman weighed in on the best heavyweight in MMA. Despite training with Francis Ngannou at Xtreme Couture, he still sees Jon Jones as the top guy. It’s gonna be a pass the torch because Jon is; He’s the pinnacle. I don’t think anybody can deny that he’s going to be on top until someone proves that he’s not on top.”
Merriman isn’t just a spectator—he’s trained in MMA for years and put in work at Xtreme Couture. So when he talks about Jones vs. Aspinall, he knows what he’s saying.
