Paddy Pimblett is having an interesting set of verbal back and forth with Ilia Topuria. After an initial dig at each other from both the fighters, it was expected that the heat would subside. However, as it stands at the moment, Pimblett is not ready to back down without a fight. While Topuria mocked him recently saying he is purposefully targeting the ‘El Matador’ for money, the Englishman reacted quickly.
In a recent update on his social media, Pimblett took a brutal dig at Topuria. He posted a picture of himself landing a thundering head kick on one of his opponents. In the caption, Pimblett stated that was waiting to do the same with Ilia Topuria soon. And this was not all. The 30-year-old also mocked the Spaniard referring to his in-octagon nickname.
“Can’t wait to land one of these [head kicks] on elchorizo,” wrote Paddy Pimblett.

Surely, with both the fighters in the same division, the exchange holds heavy significance. As Pimblett is on the rise currently, he might just be one win away from facing ‘El Matador.’ That is, of course, if Topuria manages to win the lightweight title against Charles Oliveira in June. Meanwhile, just a day back, Topuria took a brutal dig at Pimblett.
Ilia Topuria Mocks Paddy Pimblett For Throwing His Own Party

Ilia Topuria is not the one to sit quietly in the face of a verbal attack from an opponent. Thus, when Paddy Pimblett stated that Topuria moved up to the lightweight category to avoid Alexander Volkanovski, ‘El Matador’ was having any of it. Reacting to Pimblett, the former featherweight champion stated that Pimblett was doing this intentionally. This was because he knew that a fight with Topuria would fetch him a lot of fame and money.
