Paddy Pimblett does not believe Tom Aspinall will be able to match up against Jon Jones! Belonging to the same country, both Pimblett and Aspinall have established themselves as dominant forces in the UFC. However, when it came to picking a winner amidst Aspinall and Jones, Pimblett inclined towards the latter. According to him, the current heavyweight champion is just too much for Aspinall to take!
Sitting down in an interview with the ‘Full Send Podcast,’ Pimblett stated that Jones has a much better fighting IQ compared to Aspinall. While Aspinall might have explosive power, Jones might just have the edge.
“Even though Jones is getting up, I just can’t pick against Jon Jones. I’ve been watching Jon Jones as I say since 2010…The one thing I do think Jon Jones has got the best in the world and the best ever is his fight IQ. He game plans to beat people and he doesn’t fight the same way every fight. He has a perfect game plan to beat that person and as much as I love Tom and I want Tom to win, I couldn’t pick against Jon Jones. It’s just something I couldn’t do,” said Pimblett.
Meanwhile, speaking about the fight, the number 12 ranked UFC lightweight also stated that he is sure that the mega fight will definitely take place.
