Sharaputdin Magomedov has been quite the hype recently. After his incredible spinning double-back fist earned him a thumping win, fans went crazy about the Dagestani fighter. However, the hype died down significantly in his subsequent bout against Michael Venom Page. MVP produced a tactical masterclass to avoid Sharaputdin Magomedov’s striking range, securing a convincing victory. And while Magomedov would be looking to make a strong comeback, he has some interesting take on Dricus Du Plessis.
The UFC middleweight champion has long been the topic of discussion for UFC critics. Du Plessis has faced a lot of criticism due to his unorthodox fighting style. However, now there seems to be a new name on that list.
Speaking recently to ‘Sport 24,’ Shara Bullet said he would be happy if Du Plessis lost his title soon. He also pointed out that Khamzat Chimaev is the best athlete to win the belt.
“I will be very happy if Du Plessis loses his belt. I don’t understand how he managed to get this belt… Chimaev has the data to defeat Dricus. I hope that nothing will stop him from coming out in the best shape and demonstrating his level. Maybe it’s stupid to say, but du Plessis seems to be lucky,” said Magomedov.

Former UFC icon Yoel Romero gave some interesting insights into Dricus Du Plessis. While his fighting style might look unconventional, Romero sees it as a very intelligent way to approach adverse situations. Appearing on the ‘Submission Radio’ podcast, Romero shed light on ‘Stillknocks.’
“When I see the people fight, for example now with Strickland and Du Plessis, I think, say I stayed in the UFC, ‘That’s what I’d do [against them], that’s what I wouldn’t do.’ And Du Plessis is a very intelligent guy. I think the most dangerous [part about] him is his intelligence. When he fights, he has a good strategy. The mentality for him is very good,” said Romero.
Thus, with many mixed reviews going on, it remains to be seen how long Dricus Du Plessis can continue his dominance.
