Tom Aspinall has been waiting for a long time to get his hands on Jon Jones. Ever since becoming the interim champion, Apsinall is slated to fight ‘Bones.’ In between, both Jones and Aspinall had a dominant victory each to further elevate the hype. But as of now, no official announcement has been dropped by the UFC. Surprisingly, despite all the negativities surrounding the fight, Aspinall still believes that he would definitely be getting to fight Jones somewhere in the future.
In a recent interaction with ‘Rico Ver Hoeven,’ Aspinall reflected on what he thinks of the chances of him fighting Jones. And it looks like the interim champion is still keeping his faith in the heavyweight champion. Despite calling him ‘unpredictable,’ Aspinall said that the heavyweight unification fight is on.
“I think we’ll get it. I don’t know, he’s an unpredictable guy,” said Aspinall.

Surely, Aspinall’s optimism should come true. Else, the situation might become quite similar to what happened with Michael Chandler waiting for Conor McGregor. Meanwhile, expressing frustration, fellow heavyweight Alexander Volkov accused the UFC of ‘favoring’ Jon Jones.
Alexander Volkov Unhappy With The Jon Jones Situation

UFC heavyweight fighter Alexander Volkov recently had a lot of things to say regarding the Tom Aspinall-Jon Jones situation. And surely, those weren’t pleasant words. Speaking on the matter, Volkov stated that Jones was being given an undue favor by the UFC. He also mentioned how the stalemate at the top resulted in Volkov himself getting a title shot.

“But I can understand him. The UFC gives him this privilege, he feels like he is the master of the situation. Jon knows that he will be valuable to the UFC in any case. And he just takes advantage of it…” said Volkov.

"Of course I have a negative opinion about the delay of the Jones-Aspinall fight, because my chances to fight for the championship title are getting smaller, and time is running out.

Thus, with things looking quite complicated at the top, it now remains to be seen how the UFC handles it from here on.
