Tom Aspinall seems dead serious when he says Jon Jones is retired. With rumors about their fight going wild, the UFC fans desperately want closure. Unfortunately, despite Dana White’s promising definitive news, the situation does not look to be getting better anytime soon. However, amidst all these, Aspinall once again, stayed put on his comments that Jones is indeed ‘done’ with the UFC.
In a recent statement, Aspinall was asked whether he sarcastically pointed out Jones’s retirement. Immediately, Aspinall debunked sarcasm. Rather, he pointed out that he was spilling the truth. The interim title holder also said that he did not want to lose his job, and thus, he could not delve any deeper into the matter. However, Aspinall believed that the truth would be revealed soon.
“I want to keep my job. I don’t want to say too much. People think I’m joking, but it’s the truth — Jon is retired. I’m not the kind of guy to pull any media stunts or anything like that. What I’m saying is the truth, and it will be announced pretty soon as far as I’m aware,” said Aspinall.

Jon Jones Does Not Want To Fight Tom Aspinall

It has been a long time since Jon Jones fought. For Tom Aspinall too, it has been almost a year since he has been waiting. And by the looks of it, Aspinall might not get a chance to fight Jones at all. This is because the champion does not want to fight the interim title holder. In a recent update Jones clarified that he does not think Aspinall as a worthy opponent. Drawing parallels with the Ciryl Gane fight, Jones believes that Aspinall too, is more of a hype.
