Tom Aspinall is finally a happy man. It has been a long wait for the UFC interim heavyweight champion. Trying to get an official confirmation for the Jon Jones fight, Aspinall had no luck as of now. While it was expected that Jones would be fighting Aspinall in his comeback fight, the heavyweight champion had other ideas. He instead chose Stipe Miocic, which angered the fighting community significantly. However, after seemingly being in darkness for a long time, Aspinall finally looks to have some clarity.
Recently, the interim heavyweight champion had a meeting with the UFC. And much to Aspinall’s pleasure, the meeting did go pretty well. Speaking about the outcome, Aspinall looked positive and also hinted at a big news coming up shortly.
“Everything went amazing. I understand my position now. I understand what the company’s doing now… You gotta stay tuned my friend. There’s some big news coming,” Aspinall stated in an interaction with Ariel Helwani.

Surely, this is great news for both the fight fans as well as Tom Aspinall himself. For recently, Aspinall proposed a hilarious WWE tag team matchup with Jon Jones out of sarcasm.
Tom Aspinall Proposes Heel vs. Babyface WWE Tag Team Match

Jon Jones recently stated that he would need at least six months to prepare for the Tom Aspinall bout. This meant that Aspinall had to sit back for eight long months in search of his next fight. Quite expectedly, Aspinall was frustrated as he proposed a unique way to get things done. He wanted to team up with the WWE superstar, Cody Rhodes for a tag team match.

Well, as of now, it seems this idea could be put to rest. With Aspinall looking confident, it remains to be seen how things pan out in the coming days.
