Conor McGregor has announced his candidature for the President of Ireland. While this was a surprising move on the part of ‘The Notorious’, he was building up to it from a long time. McGregor recently paid a visit to the US President Donald Trump. The former UFC double champ also had some serious concerns raised about the present state of their nation. However, despite the big announcement coming from McGregor, the UFC remained relatively silent about the matter. That was until UFC Vice President, David Shaw decided to chime in.
During the UFC London event, Shaw chimed in on the Conor McGregor situation. Speaking about the matter, Shaw seemed quite appreciative of the fighter. He stated that McGregor trying to fight for the cause of his countrymen was surely impressive.
”I’m not really sure what to say about that one. I think he’ll do a great job, he seems pretty passionate. He had a very impassioned speech at the White House, he raised a number of very important topics and let’s just see, I mean, I know he’s like pushing for the you know this is the ultimate democracy so let’s see what the people think,” said Shaw.

However, in order for McGregor to contest the Presidential election, he will have to be approved first. While that will be an interesting prospect to ponder, here’s what ‘The Notorious’ said about his present government at the Oval Office.

“Our government abandoned the voices of the people of Ireland. Our money is being spent overseas on issues that have nothing to do with the Irish people. It’s time the people in America are made aware of what’s going on Ireland, what is going on Ireland is a travesty. Our government is a government with zero action and zero accountability,” said McGregor.
"OUR GOVERNMENT HAS ABANDONED THE VOICES OF THE PEOPLE."
