At UFC 313, Alex Pereira was honored with the iconic ‘One and Only’ title by legendary announcer Bruce Buffer—a recognition previously given only to Jon Jones and Conor McGregor. Despite his rising stardom and frequent presence in the Octagon, fans are now starting to worry about Pereira’s recent lack of activity in the UFC.
After headlining back-to-back pay-per-view events, the former light heavyweight champion quickly became a fan favorite. For the first time in a long while, fans witnessed someone breaking UFC gate records and pulling massive PPV numbers. Much of that hype stemmed from ‘Poatan’s’ dominant run in the division.
However, fans have noticed his absence since losing his title and feel he’s been sidelined. Reflecting the concern, one fan commented, “Deserves the rest ain’t nobody fight and dominate the way he did in such little time.”

An immediate rematch between Alex Pereira and Magomed Ankalaev was reportedly in the works, with the Brazilian aiming to reclaim the title he lost by decision. However, the fight has yet to be officially announced, leaving fans waiting anxiously for an update.
Magomed Ankalaev Says Alex Pereira’s Pre-Fight Ritual Won’t Help Him

Ankalaev isn’t buying into Pereira’s spiritual rituals. After defeating Pereira at UFC 313 and ending his light heavyweight title reign, Ankalaev responded to a video Pereira posted, where the Brazilian was seen performing a ritual, saying he was “recharging my warrior spirit with the energy of my ancestors.” Ankalaev fired back on social media: “I told this not going to work with me #Vodoking.”
Jiri Procházka had accused Pereira of using black magic after suffering back-to-back losses. Although Pereira denied it, claiming he’s a man of God, the ongoing rituals continue to stir debate among fans as talks of a rematch heat up.
