Arman Tsarukyan has been quite active on social media lately, and fans are enjoying his presence. Recently, he shared insights into his game plan for future matchups, naming both Paddy Pimblett and Ilia Topuria as potential opponents. He also took a jab at Topuria, mocking him for repeatedly missing weight in the UFC.
‘El Matador’ moved up to the lightweight division after vacating his featherweight title, citing difficulties with cutting weight. However, the weight controversy followed him to UFC 317, where the commission head initially announced Topuria’s weight as 155.5 lbs, above the championship limit.
Although it was later confirmed that Topuria successfully made 155 lbs, Tsarukyan seized the moment to call him out. The Armenian fighter took to social media, sharing screenshots of Topuria’s past weigh-in issues, and wrote on X:
“Another fun fact: Topuria regularly misses weight. So spare us the fairytales about fighting with one arm. You pulled out from fighting Charles Jourdain, hermanito…”

The Armenian fighter didn’t hold back—he listed every instance where the lightweight champion reportedly missed weight. So far, Topuria hasn’t responded to the accusations, but if he does, fans can expect a fiery back-and-forth between the two. The trash talk might just be heating up.

UFC legend Chael Sonnen believes Ilia Topuria is missing one thing from his historic run for the BMF title. After becoming a two-division champion by knocking out Charles Oliveira at UFC 317, Sonnen says Topuria should already be holding three belts. Reflecting on Topuria’s win over Max Holloway, the current BMF champion, Sonnen argued the belt should have been on the line at UFC 308.
“That son of a b*tch should have three belts right now. Ilia Topuria should have two [belts] over his shoulders and one around his waist,” Sonnen said on Good Guy Bad Guy.
Topuria’s performances keep proving his bold predictions right, and many fans are already calling his run one of the greatest in UFC history. Now that he’s entered the lightweight division, fans eagerly look forward to more electrifying matchups.
