
Fans are deep in prayer for Jeff Gordon this week.
Legendary Hendrick Motorsports communications strategist Jon Edwards passed away this week.
On Thursday, Hendrick Motorsports was heartbroken to learn of the sudden passing of Edwards.
Edwards served as Gordon’s longtime public relations representative since 1994, one year into Gordon’s legendary career.
“I’m devastated by the loss of my dear friend, Jon. For almost three decades, we were side by side through every high and low, every celebration, and every challenge,” Jeff Gordon said in part.
“He was one of the most loyal, hardworking, and selfless people I’ve ever known, and I will be forever grateful for his immeasurable impact on my life and my career. My heart is with Jon’s family and everyone who loved him. He was truly one of a kind,” Gordon announced.

Prayers were sent to Gordon from fans.
“Absolutely devastating news! Jon was such a good guy and did an outstanding job!!! 🙏,” one fan said.
“So sad to read this. Jon was always a consumate professional and treated all with kindness. Prayers to his family,” a second fan stated.
“Jeff, I’m so sorry for your loss. I know how much he meant to you. He was such a talented and loyal friend. Sending love to you and his family and friends. RIP, Jon. 🙏🏻❤️,” another fan commented to Jeff Gordon.
“RIP Sir! Prayers for family and friends. It’s really hard to find those special people that walk through life with us!” a fourth fan stated.
“Heartbreaking. Prayers for you JG & the many ppl who were blessed to call him a friend. 💔,” one final fan added.

Hendrick Motorsports announced that Jon Edwards, Director of Communications for the team, had died.
There are all kinds of people behind the scenes who make the NASCAR world go around. Jon Edwards was one of those people.
Edwards worked as a PR rep with Jeff Gordon for years and, most recently, alongside Kyle Larson in a similar role.
He was much more than just a member of the team; he was a good friend.
