International road racing veteran Katherine Legge has gained a lot of enemies after her latest comments.
Legge was hoping to gain more NASCAR experience just over 50 laps into Saturday’s NASCAR Xfinity race at Rockingham.
This weekend, she had trouble with Kasey Kahne at Rockingham. Kasey Kahne’s anticipated return and Katherine Legge’s run ended early as they would come together on the track, leaving both with significant damage.
Legge’s race was over, finishing 36th. Her Cup debut at Phoenix earlier this year also ended in an unfortunate DNF.
She would make things so much worse as she later placed blame on Sawalich, telling FOX’s Bob Pockrass: “I got taken out … I don’t have a disappear button on my steering wheel.”
Often referred to as the “new Danica Patrick,” Katherine Legge took to X, formerly known as Twitter, to post a statement about her performance.
“I’m SO proud of this team!! We were able to run a fast enough lap time in qualifications to put me comfortably in the race if not for Owner Points provisional,” she said in part.

“So that’s why my sponsors and partners were on board to help me get the track time I promised everyone we would get,” she added.
“They meant it when they said they support me and believe in our program. Unfortunately, there was nothing I could do about Sawalich getting right up under the back of the car and taking me and, subsequently, others out of the race.”

How Social Media Reacted To Katherine Legge’s Comments

NASCAR fans were not happy with Katherine Legge.
Legge failed to make the North Carolina Education Lottery 250 field in qualifying at Rockingham Speedway. She finished last in the overtime race, completing 50 of the 256 laps.
Afterward, she seemingly blamed Sawalich.
Here is how fans reacted:
“No f–king way should she be on the track at Dega, I’m sorry, no way at all… can’t finish a race or stay at a competitive pace, whether that crash was 18s fault or not, she doesn’t have the speed to keep up, squaring up to be a Derrick Cope Standing Still Situation,” one fan said.

“The balls on this woman to blame the 18 after choking off the inside and somehow still blocking the top running 20mph off the pace. See us in Dega? Oh no…” a second fan stated.

One final fan added: “Blaming the other driver for your mistake is wild work. You were way off pace and a hazard to other drivers and you parked it halfway between the 1st lane and 2nd lane. You didn’t give him space to make a safe pass and you were going so slow he couldn’t even react.”
