The Denver Nuggets might have to play a very important Game 7 against the Oklahoma City Thunder without one of their key players, Aaron Gordon. The forward injured his left hamstring at the end of their last game on Thursday, and his status for Sunday’s game is still in the air.
The 29-year-old Gordon grabbed his hamstring and walked with a limp during the first few minutes of the Nuggets’ win. On Friday, ESPN’s Shams Charania reported that Gordon has a strained left hamstring. The team has not officially announced any update, but his availability with this damage remains uncertain for game 7
Aaron Gordon’s Recovery Timeline Could Extend To Finals

After the game, the Nuggets interim Head coach David Adelman really praied Gordon stated, “the reason why we’ve won games and won series and have a banner hanging up.” Even Gordon is hopeful to get fit for Game 7.”
But a hamstring strain can be severe. According to Dr. Evan Jeffries, if Gordon is dealing with Grade I straining, he could miss one to two weeks. A more severe Grade II strain would extend his recovery to as long as six weeks, which could potentially set him out for the entire Western Conference Finals if Denver wins the series.
There is still a chance he might play. Reporters say Gordon still remains hopeful, as the Nuggets have not officially ruled him out for Game 7. The Nuggets expect to give more information about his injury before their practice on Saturday. The extra day to rest before the game on Sunday might help, but the Nuggets might not want to take any risk, making the injury worse for further games ahead.
If the Denver Nuggets beat the Oklahoma City Thunder, they will probably play the Minnesota Timberwolves in the next round. They would likely have to play without Gordon, who is one of their players on both offense and defense, unless he recovers much faster that expected timeline.
