Giannis Antetokounmpo’s next destination is making ripples all over the internet. While it is almost certain that the ‘Greek Freak’ will bid adieu to the Milwaukee Bucks, there is no certainty which team he will sign up for. But that isn’t stopping the rumor mills from churning. And following the trend, an anonymous NBA executive has dropped some interesting takes on the matter. So much so that the executive believes the idea might win the NBA ring for the team!
In a recent turn of events, Sam Vecenie of ‘The Athletic’ compiled a report on Antetokounmpo. In his report, an NBA executive, whose name was not disclosed, proposed that the San Antonio Spurs must look forward to landing Antetokounmpo. This would significantly increase their chances of winning next year’s elusive NBA championship.
“If the Spurs paired Giannis and Wemby, they’d be the favorite to win the title next year. They’d have two guys who might be top-five players in the league on the same team. Plus, they fit. They’d have a dominant defense no one could score against inside, and they’d be able to play five-out in a more devastating way than the Bucks ever did,” said the executive.

The idea sounds quite appealing. After all, pairing Victor Wembanyama and Antetokounmpo would surely be a dream for any other team. Moreover, the possibility is all the more intriguing as the Spurs have the option to pick second. But sadly, the dream pairing might not be something that the Spurs are looking for.
San Antonio Spurs Looking To Land Dylan Harper: REPORT

The San Antonio Spurs will be a happy unit having gotten the opportunity to pick 2nd. However, in all probability, they would like to use that leverage to bank on the young Rutgers’ phenom, Dylan Harper. According to a recent report from ‘Oh No He Didn’t,’ the Spurs looked very interested in pairing Harper with De’Aaron Fox and Stephon Castle.

"They are not pursuing trades from what we're hearing. They think that they can play Harper together with Steph Castle and De'Aaron Fox in the same backcourt"

And this would be quite a choice to be honest. Harper has been averaging a solid 19.4 points per game, with 4.6 rebounds, and 4.0 assists in the current season. Thus, acquiring him might actually make the Spurs’ outfit an even better team than it already is. Nonetheless, with many permutations and combinations to try from, it remains to be seen how things pan out in the future.
