Anthony Davis played alongside LeBron James for six seasons with the Los Angeles Lakers. Together, they created memorable moments on the court and won an NBA Championship for the Lakers during the 2019-2020 season. However, their partnership ended when the Lakers traded Davis to the Dallas Mavericks in exchange for Luka Doncic on February 2, 2025.
Although Davis and James are now on different teams, their bond remains strong. Recently, during an interview with Speedy Morman, Davis revealed James’ unusual pregame ritual that teammates were afraid to interrupt.
“One guy known as one of the greatest of all-time, if not the greatest. As soon as he gets to the arena, he takes his entire uniform, from the jersey to the shorts, the socks, the shoes, everything, and lays it on the floor. And no one can touch it. It became a thing where you can’t even walk over it. You have to walk around it,” Davis said.
Davis guided the Mavericks into the Play-In Tournament, but their journey toward the playoffs took a harsh turn when they lost 106-120 to the Memphis Grizzlies.

In an exciting twist, Rich Paul, James’ agent, popped into the studio on “The Rich Eisen Show” to dive into what’s next for the legendary player.

“I have no idea. Normally, our process is you kinda weigh everything and see how he’s feeling and all those type of things. Same process it’s been for the last I don’t know how many years. He’ll come around to what he’s thinking at some point and we’ll kinda go over some things and go from there,” Paul said.
Paul also spills the beans on James’ undeniable sway over the Lakers’ front office decisions. James averaged 24.4 points, 8.2 assists, and 7.8 rebounds over 70 games this NBA season.
