The Los Angeles Lakers have been in the limelight for all the wrong reasons this offseason. Things aren’t looking good as Luka Doncic has yet to sign an extension, and there are wild LeBron James rumors. In between, the reports were that Austin Reaves has not been happy playing with Luka Doncic since the Blockbuster trade happened.
On the latest episode of the ‘Burns and Gambo Show,’ host John Gambadoro claimed that LeBron and Reaves don’t like playing with Luka. However, Reaves’ agent, Aaron Reilly, has something else to tell.
Reilly squashed the rumored beef by saying, “Austin has nothing but the utmost respect for Luka and truly enjoys playing alongside him. Any suggestion to the contrary is completely false. He’s excited to be on the court with Luka—both now and in the future,”

If Reaves’ camp is right, then it’s a massive sign of relief for Lakers fans. It’s pretty evident that Luka Doncic will be the Franchise’s face from now on. So, it’s better if there isn’t any bad blood between players, especially among the main starters.
Luka Doncic Is Yet To Sign A Contract Extension With The Lakers

Since joining the Lakers, Doncic has been the center of attraction. The trade was so shocking that it was hard to tell whether the Slovenian superstar wanted to continue in LA. And with the looming contract extension, it’ll be a matter of worry for everyone.

Surprisingly, Austin Reaves declined his max extension despite his breakout season. Also, LeBron James opted in without any pay cut, and rumors swirl that he might want to leave.
With this power shift, it’s hard to predict the Lakers’ main roster when the season begins. Rob Pelinka has made some impressive offseason moves, including big man Deandre Ayton.
Luka Doncic, who is expected to sign a new deal soon, would look to have a solid roster in search of his first championship. But time will only tell if the Lakers will be title contenders.
