The 2025 NBA All-Star Weekend thrilled basketball enthusiasts with its exciting events and new format. Orlando Magic star Mac McClung secured his third consecutive win in the Slam Dunk Contest. Meanwhile, Milwaukee Bucks star Damian Lillard fell short of achieving his third consecutive victory in the Three-Point Contest.
Damian Lillard won consecutive NBA Three-Point Contests during the 2023 and 2024 NBA All-Star events. He made his ninth NBA All-Star appearance at the 2025 NBA All-Star event. However, during that event’s Three-Point Contest, he faced tough competition and ultimately fell short in the second round. This opened the door for Tyler Herro, who seized the opportunity to clinch his first Three-Point Contest title. After the loss, Lillard mentioned in a recent interview that he is officially retiring from the Three-Point Contest.
“Came up short tonight. Congrats to Tyler Herro, it’s all good. This will be my last one, I’m retiring, officially retiring.” Lillard said.

Lillard fell short of the opportunity to join the ranks of only two players in NBA history—Craig Hodges and Larry Bird—who have won the NBA 3-Point Contest three consecutive times.
Damian Lillard’s Stellar Display In The Game Against The Golden State Warriors
The Milwaukee Bucks played an intense game against the Golden State Warriors at Fiserv Forum. Damian Lillard showcased his remarkable skills on the court, playing for 39 minutes and scoring 38 points, along with 7 assists and 5 rebounds. However, Lillard’s impressive performance wasn’t enough to overcome Stephen Curry’s outstanding game. Ultimately, the Bucks lost to the Warriors with a final score of 111-125.
Lillard is currently averaging 25.8 points, 7.5 assists, and 4.7 rebounds per game this season. The Bucks are positioned 5th in the Eastern Conference standings, with a record of 29 wins and 24 losses in the 2024-25 NBA season. Their next game will be against the Los Angeles Clippers at Fiserv Forum.
