The Chicago Bulls are under heavy criticism. After a series of recent trades, the team has no potential pick in return. This move has made fans and analysts think about their strategy ahead of the next season.
The latest move sent Lonzo Ball to the Cleveland Cavaliers for Issac Okoro. For many, it was an underwhelming return, since Ball had interest from several teams that offered better deals. Before this, the Bulls traded Zach LaVine to the Sacramento Kings for Kevin Huerter, True Jones, Zach Collins, and a first-round pick, which mainly belongs to them. They also let DeMar DeRozan go to the Kings and acquired Chris Duarte, cash, and a 2028 season round pick. None of the players matched the players’ value.
DeMar DeRozan, Zach LaVine, Alex Caruso, and now Lonzo Ball have all been traded—and the Bulls didn’t get a single draft pick in return.

What an absolute joke of a franchise.
The most surprising trade move came last summer when they traded Alex Caruso to the Oklahoma City Thunder for Josh Giddey. Caruso is among the best NBA defenders and could have brought multiple first-round picks. Shockingly, the Bulls let him go and got only Giddey with no draft assets.
Ultimately, the Bulls gave up all their key players and ended up with just one first-round pick they already owned. As Nikola Vucevic and Coby White are still on the roster, fans are getting worried about their future in the Bulls’ core. The Bulls seem to fail to build their roster by releasing their top assets.

Amid the growing criticism about the Chicago Bulls’ decisions, all eyes will be on their on-court performance next season. If the Bulls make a substantial impact with their planned roster, they can shut all doubters. But if it doesn’t go according to plan, the decisions will be a burden in the long term.
