The Golden State Warriors made a whirlwind turnaround to make it to the next round in the current NBA season. After being almost down and out mid of the season, Stephen Curry and his team made an impeccable comeback. While most of the comeback was orchestrated by Jimmy Butler, Curry still remains the heart and soul of the Warriors. And if they have to make it big this year, then Curry surely holds the key.
Going up against the Houston Rockets, a lot will depend on how the matchup between Amen Thompson and Curry will pan out. So far in this season, Thompson has defended 41 possessions from Curry. So far, the stats say, 9.1 points/75, 9.1 assists/75 (0 tovs), and 31.3% TS.

If this data provided by ‘@databallr’ is an indication, things are about to get really interesting. While Curry is known to be a ferocious shooter, the likes of Amen Thompson will surely pose a significant challenge to the Warriors’ best bet. Add to that the Rockets’ switching and trapping style of play. Moreover, as per information provided by Evan Sidery, Curry has a shooting percentage of 25% when guarded by Thompson. Meanwhile, despite Curry being a great prospect, he is fouled often. Surprisingly, he does not receive enough favorable calls. Draymond Green explains why.
Draymond Green Explains Why Stephen Curry’s Fouls Get Overlooked

The NBA has become an utterly physical game in recent times. With the amount of fouls increasing, Stephen Curry, too, is not devoid of the same. Interestingly, Curry does not get enough favorable calls despite being fouled regularly. In a recent episode of ‘The Draymond Green Show,’ Green himself had the answer to the big question.
“He gets penalized because he’s not a flopper. So he don’t flop to sell calls. And so it’s almost as if, ‘Oh, he’s not getting fouled’ or it don’t matter because he ain’t showing that he’s getting fouled,” Green said.
