The Oklahoma City Thunder were thoroughly outplayed in their Game 6 loss to the Indiana Pacers. It was supposed to be a potential closeout opportunity, but it turned into a wake-up call. However, with the series tied 3-3, Chet Holmgren & Co. now have one last opportunity to secure their first-ever NBA championship in Game 7.
Both the Thunder and the Pacers held their final practice sessions on Saturday in preparation for the high-stakes clash. Following Oklahoma City’s workout, Holmgren addressed reporters and didn’t hold back on his mindset for the looming showdown.
“I expect Indiana to bring their best. I expect us to bring our best. We’re gonna see what happens when we both do that,” Holmgren said.

The Thunder’s performance in Game 6 left much to be desired. Only four players managed to score in double figures. Shai Gilgeous-Alexander led with 21 points, followed by Jalen Williams with 16. Isaiah Joe chipped in with 11, and Isaiah Hartenstein added 10 points.
Holmgren has played a critical role throughout the postseason. But he scored just four points with six rebounds in 24 minutes, shooting 2-of-9 from the field in Game 6.

Despite his off night, Chet Holmgren didn’t shy away from responsibility. Instead, he stepped up and made a promise to Thunder fans heading into the winner-takes-all finale after the Game 6 loss.
“No matter what it is, we have to be better at course-correcting, getting ourselves back on the right track. I personally, myself, will be better, trying to help get things going the right way. We’re going to watch the film and see what we can do better. At the end of the day, we still have a great opportunity in Game 7,” Holmgren said.
With their backs against the wall, the Thunder are rallying around the chance to make history. Game 7 will determine whether Oklahoma City seizes the moment or falls just short of glory.
