Prior to the game, Doncic was visibly emotional, wiping away tears as he watched a tribute video during his first return to Dallas. Despite the pregame emotions, Doncic didn’t let the moment overwhelm him. Instead, he delivered a masterclass against his former team.
The Los Angeles Lakers newest star dropped a season-high 45 points to go along with eight rebounds, six assists, four steals, and seven made three-pointers. He shot 16-of-28 from the field and left the game to a roaring standing ovation from the Dallas crowd that once called him their franchise player.

LeBron James supported the effort with a strong showing of his own. In 36 minutes of play, the veteran forward put up 27 points on 11-of-20 shooting, along with seven rebounds, three assists, and one steal.

Rui Hachimura chipped in 15 points in 37 minutes, while Austin Reaves added 11 points, four rebounds, and four assists. Jaxson Hayes contributed five boards in limited time, and Dorian Finney-Smith made his mark across the board with five points, five rebounds, and five assists.
On the Mavericks’ side, Davis posted 13 points, 11 rebounds, and six assists. Naji Marshall led the Mavs in scoring with 23 points, also tallying four rebounds and eight assists.
PJ Washington scored 14 points with five rebounds and three assists, while Daniel Gafford added a solid 10 points and six rebounds off the bench. Contributions from Max Christie, Caleb Martin, and others were not enough to slow down the Lakers’ momentum.
