It was not a very fruitful rookie season for Dalton Knecht, as the Los Angeles Lakers saw a disappointing playoff exit.
There were high hopes around Knecht that the Lakers would trade him after the elimination. But that didn’t happen, and the rookie didn’t get too bothered with it.
As the offseason begins, the rookie forward has been enjoying his downtime. Knecht was recently seen on stage at a Chief Keef concert, which went viral on social media. The clips from the concert went wild crazy as it amassed over a million views, 22,000 likes, and more than 1,500 retweets.

Knecht had a strong start to his rookie season but faced challenges after a rescinded trade deal. Ultimately, he logged only four minutes in the postseason. Fans had mixed reactions to his concert appearance, with some questioning the timing so soon after the Lakers’ exit.
Although some of his fans supported him as just a rookie enjoying his offseason.
Throughout the season, Knecht played in 78 games after being drafted No. 17 overall out of Tennessee. He averaged 9.1 points, 2.8 rebounds, and 0.8 assists per game, showing shooting efficiency of 46.1% from the field and 37.6% from three-point range.

A Trade Proposal Sends Dalton Knecht Off The Lakers Roster

While Dalton Knecht is enjoying his time off, the rumor mill runs high on a probable trade.
There’s some buzz around a major trade proposal that could shake up the Lakers’ roster once again.
After selecting Knecht, a sharp shooting guard from the University of Tennessee, LA traded him to the Charlotte Hornets for center Mark Williams. However, that deal fell through when Williams failed his physical exam. And it left the Lakers awkwardly bringing Knecht back to the team.
Unfortunately, it hasn’t been the best season for Knecht. It’s clear he lost the trust of rookie head coach JJ Redick.

Now, there’s a new proposal on the table that could see the Lakers part ways with Knecht once again, and this time, they’re hoping to bring in some serious help. In a creative multi-team trade that involved the Orlando Magic, the Dallas Mavericks, and the Brooklyn Nets, the Lakers could land Daniel Gafford. Plus, they’d like to reunite Luka Doncic with Gafford.
In this trade scenario, Knecht would head to the Magic, along with some financial incentives from the Nets. It’s an exciting chance for the Lakers to boost their frontcourt and for Knecht to get a fresh start elsewhere.
