The Cleveland Cavaliers have surged ahead in their first-round playoff series against the Miami Heat, taking a commanding 2-0 lead. But despite the momentum, Cavs guard Darius Garland isn’t letting his guard down, especially when it comes to Miami’s top offensive weapon, Tyler Herro.
Since Jimmy Butler’s trade saga, the Heat have leaned heavily on Herro to carry the offensive load. And he’s been delivering. Garland made it clear during his postgame press conference that their game plan centers around limiting Herro’s dominance in the upcoming game.
“I think we’ve been doing a really good job on him. If one guys beats us, he beats us. Pick on Tyler Herro and take care of the ball. Don’t play in tight spaces and pick on their weak defenders,” Garland said.

Herro is doing everything in his power to keep the Heat competitive. During their 121-112 loss in Game 2, Miami mounted a strong comeback at the start of the fourth quarter, with Herro leading the charge. He finished the game with 33 points, six rebounds, and five assists while shooting 14-of-24 from the field.
Garland himself had a strong showing in Game 2. He contributed 21 points, two rebounds, and nine assists. Though he shot just 6-of-14 from the field and 2-of-8 from three.
