Things were looking really bad for Delonte West, but now he has turned a major corner in his life.
Back in late September, West had fallen on hard times in his battle with bipolar disorder and substance abuse. He was homeless and living on the streets before Mavericks owner Mark Cuban decided to find him and pick him up from a corner store. From there, he took him to a rehab center in Florida.
Roughly four months later, West is not only doing well in his rehab, but he’s actually working at the facility that treated him, according to The Athletic’s Shams Charania.
Back in November, West was actually spotted back on the court.
Over his NBA career, West averaged 9.7 points and 3.6 assists per game while playing for four different teams, the Dallas Mavericks, the Cleveland Cavaliers, the Seattle SuperSonics, and the Boston Celtics. He last played for the Mavericks in the 2011-12 season.
