DeMar DeRozan has made a significant impact in the NBA as a six-time All-Star and a three-time All-NBA Team selection. He currently ranks sixth among all active NBA players on the all-time scoring list. These impressive achievements reflect his unwavering discipline and dedication, which he recently discussed.
DeRozan recently appeared on the “Time Out with Dwyane Wade” podcast, where he discussed various topics related to the league. During the conversation, he revealed that he has never consumed alcohol in his life.
“I don’t drink. Never had a drink in my life. Not saying nothing wrong with it, but I’ve never had a drink in my life. I just always kind of looked at it from the standpoint of like, my whole goal of hooping was like, I want to be able to play as long as I can… it just led me down the tunnel like, what all can I do to prolong whatever it is that I want to do? You know what I mean? If it’s eating healthy, taking care of myself, you know, all right, sleep. I just try to find every avenue to try to prolong whatever it is,” DeRozan said.
DeRozan shared that he has consistently chosen to avoid drinking alcohol throughout his life. His decision stems not from a place of judgment or moral superiority, but rather from a strong sense of discipline and personal commitment to maintaining his focus and health.
