The Denver Nuggets have had quite a wild ride recently, and many fans are still processing the whirlwind changes that took place this past season. Just days before the regular season wrapped up, the Nuggets shockingly fired head coach Michael Malone and general manager Calvin Booth.
Additionally, the roster is already in a bit of a mess with Jaylin Williams and DaRon Holmes II struggling with injuries lately. And as things stand, the team’s superstar, Nikola Jokic, is in an unfavourable position.
Despite Jokic’s incredible talent, Nuggets owner Josh Kroenke dropped a rather alarming hint about the future. He mentioned that injuries could put the team in a tricky position where they might have to consider trading Jokic.
“If the wrong person gets injured and very quickly you’re into a scenario that I never want to have to contemplate, and that’s trading [Jokic]. So we’re very conscious of that pushing forward and providing the resources we can when the moment arrives,” Kroenke said.

While Kroenke hints that the team’s injury woes might make it worse for the Nuggets and Jokic, the Serbian giant had a wonderful run.
During the first round of the playoffs, the Nuggets found themselves up against the LA Clippers. They were on fire at the time, boasting an eight-game winning streak. However, Jokic stepped up and led the Nuggets past the Clippers, proving all the doubters wrong.
As the playoffs progressed, the Nuggets faced off against the Oklahoma City Thunder, who ultimately went on to win the championship. While the Nuggets didn’t make it past this round, Jokic continued to shine. In Game 1, he put on a jaw-dropping performance and scored 42 points while grabbing 22 rebounds, leading the Nuggets to a 121-119 win.
