They maintained dominance in the round 1 playoff series against the Miami Heat. However, their quest for the championship ended during the conference semifinals against the Indiana Pacers. In a recent interview with Taylor Rooks, Mitchell discussed various topics, including the Cavaliers’ playoff run. He also reflected on his desire to win a title for Cleveland.
“No, because I’m not Bron. I’m not going to do it the same way he did it. What did he do six times in a row? Maybe we can do it the next six years. Maybe we don’t. We are not the LeBron James, Kyrie Irving, Cleveland Cavaliers. We do it different,” Mitchell said.

LeBron James played 11 seasons with the Cavaliers. During his tenure, he accomplished several things, including winning the NBA championship. Mitchell distances himself from the James era as he embraces a new identity with the Cavaliers.

Mitchell joined the Cavaliers in a blockbuster trade on September 1, 2022. He has led the team to the postseason in all three seasons he has played for them. In the 2024-25 NBA season, Mitchell guided the Cavaliers to the best record in the Eastern Conference. However, he has yet to win a championship with the team. During a recent interview with Taylor Rooks, he discussed his future aspirations.

“We are going to try to accomplish what they did and be the second team in franchise history, but we are not the 2016 Cavs. That was a special team,” Mitchell said.
Mitchell averaged 24.0 points, 5.0 assists, and 4.5 rebounds for 71 games this season.
