Speaking on an episode of ‘Jimmy Kimmel Live,’ Green stated that he had a talk with the Warriors’ owner, Joe Lacob. Lacob discussed with him the possibility of a Kevin Durant trade and asked him to keep it under wraps. After just 10 minutes, Stephen Curry excitedly shared the news of a blockbuster NBA trade. And Green’s initial reaction was that the Kevin Durant ploy had come through!
“So, we’re at this tournament and I go sit down,” Green said. “And about 15 minutes later, Steph [Curry] yells, ‘Draymond, you see the trade?’ I go, ‘It happened?’ Steph goes, ‘Wait, who?’ I said, ‘Oh, never mind, nobody. What happened?’ He’s like, ‘Luka got traded.’ I couldn’t [believe it].”
Surely, after learning about Luka Doncic, Green too, had a hard time believing the same. Afterall, the high-profile trade was kept secret until the last moment. So much so, that even the NBA commissioner, Adam Silver had a hard time believing it.

“I was surprised when I heard about the trade. I did not know that Luka was potentially a player that was about to be traded. That was news to me. I followed it like a fan at that point,” Silver said.
