According to ESPN’s Dave McMenamin, fans should hold off on the farewells because LeBron isn’t going anywhere. McMenamin offered a direct and confident response to the swirling rumors on The Rich Eisen Show.
“He’s going to come back, of course, and he’s going to come back with the Lakers,” McMenamin said.

McMenamin echoed the same stance during an appearance on The Dan Patrick Show. He pointed to a familiar pattern in LeBron’s post-playoff behavior.
“I think he’ll be back. I think, listen, he’s done this similar song and dance ever since they lost to the Denver Nuggets in the Western Conference Finals. That was year 20. Last year, similar kinds of sentiments when the season ended. That was 21. This year is 22,” he said.

Following the Oklahoma City Thunder’s victory over the Denver Nuggets in Game 7, LeBron James joined the buzz with his own reaction. The Los Angeles Lakers star took to X to share his excitement about the intensity and drama of a winner-take-all scenario.
“Best 2 words in SPORTS… GAME 7!!!!!!” LeBron wrote.
LeBron’s response comes after his own team’s early playoff disappointment. The Minnesota Timberwolves dominated the first-round series, sending the Lakers home after just five games with a 4-1 series win. It was another frustrating end to the season for LeBron and the Lakers, who continue to search for answers after falling short of championship expectations once again.
