Luka has now entered his first offseason away from Dallas. Hence, he seems fully aware of what needs to change. One of the biggest criticisms during his time with the Mavericks was his fitness. But now, Luka appears determined to rewrite that part of his story.

The clip quickly gained the attention of NBA fans, who noticed Luka’s slimmer appearance and were quick to react on social media to applaud his improved conditioning.

Cooper Flagg Unbothered By Luka Doncic Comparisons
Just a day before being selected by the Dallas Mavericks in the NBA Draft, Cooper Flagg was asked about the pressure of stepping into a franchise once led by Luka Doncic. Flagg clarified that he’s focused on his own path, not living in anyone’s shadow.
“I wouldn’t look at anything as pressure. I’m not worried about living up to certain players’ expectations or things like that. I’m just going to be myself and try to get better every day,” Flagg said.
The 2025-26 season is shaping to be a statement year for both the Lakers and the Mavericks. Dallas GM Nico Harrison hopes Cooper Flagg’s presence will help quiet the backlash from fans over the Luka Doncic trade.
