The Oklahoma City Thunder are on fire! After trailing twice in the finals, they have come from behind to take the lead. And after Game 5, it looks like the Thunder are in cruise control. And the main credits for such a strong showing go to a couple of names. Jalen Williams and Shai Gilgeous-Alexander. Undoubtedly, two of the best athletes of the league this season. Meanwhile, with the NBA MVP going to Gilgeous-Alexander, Williams is now fighting for the Finals MVP.
Williams recently exploded in Game 5. When the chips were down and the team needed a power-packed performance, Williams delivered aptly with a whopping 40 points to give the Thunder a convincing 120-109 victory. This was not the only impressive performance by Williams. His form has been consistent throughout the season and in the finals.

So much so that Williams is now threatening to snatch the Finals MVP from Gilgeous-Alexander’s grasp! With a 14 25 shooting in Game 5, Williams is now averaging 25.8 points. And while that is still below SGA’s 32.4, Williams has fewer lowlights on defense in the finals. Meanwhile, Williams has grown so much in stature that he is getting confident about taking on Alex Caruso.
Jalen Williams Downplays Alex Caruso’s Defense

Alex Caruso is ranked highly in terms of his defensive abilities. Keeping the likes of Tyrese Haliburton and Pascal Siakam at bay, Caruso has done an impressive job in the NBA Finals. However, while other NBA athletes would like to avoid facing Caruso, Jalen Williams is not at all concerned. Instead, he is vowing to ‘fry’ Caruso.
“I don’t know I’d be frying AC, so I don’t really know,” Williams said.
