Despite Kevin Durant delivering another stellar season on the court, the Phoenix Suns failed to secure a playoff spot this time around. The disappointment surrounding their campaign was significant enough to cost head coach Mike Budenholzer his job. Even before his dismissal, reports had already begun surfacing that Durant might be eyeing a move to a new team ahead of the next season.
Former NBA champion Nick Young addressed the possibility of Durant switching teams again during his appearance on the “Gil’s Arena” podcast. Young slammed this potential move, referencing Durant’s history of team changes and the disruptions that seemed to follow.
“Everywhere KD been going it’s been f**king the whole team up. If I go somewhere else and the same thing happen at some point, I gotta be the problem,” Young said.

According to NBA insider Shams Charania, the Suns are planning to collaborate with Durant and his business partner to explore trade opportunities during the upcoming summer. If a deal comes through, Durant will be moving on to his fifth team in the NBA.

“No, not yet. And it’s kind of crazy to say it out loud because I feel like we’re disrespecting bigs these days. But (Kevin Durant) is one of the most unique guys that I’ve ever seen play. I have him above a lot of people that most people don’t have him above. I have him above Steph, because we’re never going to see a better scorer than him at seven feet,” Green said.
Durant’s numbers continue to back up such bold claims. Even in a tough season, he averaged 26.6 points, 6.0 rebounds, and 4.2 assists per game. Nevertheless, Phoenix stumbled toward the end of the season, losing nine of their last ten games and finishing with a disappointing 36-46 record.
