The NBA is down to its business end. Thus, it is time for the prediction hats to come out. With the playoffs getting nearer, the experts are now scrutinizing all the top-tier teams. At a glance, the Oklahoma City Thunder is looking like the hot favorite to win the NBA. With a whopping 54 wins and 12 losses, Thunder is sitting pretty atop the Western Conference. While their biggest thorn towards the title aspirations will be the Boston Celtics, former NBA champion Kendrick Perkins has an entirely different take.
In a recent interaction, Kendrick Perkins explained that the Oklahoma City Thunder might not win the NBA. He further stated that his number one pick to lift the ring will be the Boston Celtics.
Perkins stated, “The Boston Celtics were missing a key piece: Kristaps Porzingis.”

Perkins further stressed the fact that the Thunder must not be considered as the favorites. Well, this might seem like a controversial point of view. After all, in their recent matchup, the Celtics succumbed to a 112-118 loss against the Oklahoma City Thunder. Riding on the back of Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, OKC has been phenomenal this season. Meanwhile, this was not the only time that Kendrick Perkins had supported the Boston Celtics.

Unfortunately, according to Kendrick Perkins, despite all the hard work the Celtics have put in over the years, they are still disrespected.

“When it comes down to champions, they’re the most disrespected champions in NBA history. All you hear about is what, how easy of a ride they had it last year, how Jayson Tatum is not this, how he didn’t play in the Olympics, all this. This is a great basketball team, and maybe I need to switch my tone up,” Perkins said on NBA ESPN.
