Former Los Angeles Lakers star Lamar Odom, who helped the team to back-to-back NBA championships in 2009 and 2010, has been ordered to vacate his luxurious home.
According to a report from Whitney Vasquez of the New York Post, Lamar Odom’s landlord sued him for failing to pay $45,000 in back rent. Odom previously agreed to pay $15,000 a month to stay at the mansion in the Los Angeles neighborhood of Studio City, per the Post.
Executive Recovery Group, Inc., the sublessor, accuses Odom of missing payments in January, February and March. Odom did not respond to their demands to make his payments, so he was hit with a court order to leave the home, the Post reports.
Lamar Odom made about $115 million during his NBA playing career that spanned from 1999-2000 to 2012-13. He spent seven of his 14 seasons with Kobe Bryant’s Lakers, helping the club to consecutive championships in 2009 and 2010.
Odom was married to reality TV star Khloé Kardashian from 2009 to 2016. In October 2015, he fell into a coma and suffered multiple heart attacks and a reported 12 strokes. Odom was placed on life support but made a remarkable recovery and was soon discharged.
Lamar Odom has made several television appearances since retiring from basketball. He appeared on the third season of CBS’s “Celebrity Big Brother”, but he was eliminated on the 27th day. UFC star Miesha Tate went on to win the season.
