The New York Knicks have ended their 2024-25 NBA campaign in heartbreak, falling short in the Eastern Conference Finals against the Indiana Pacers. But one player who never let up was Jalen Brunson.
Despite the disappointment of missing out on the NBA Finals, Brunson’s individual brilliance has drawn attention across the sports world. Former NFL running back LeSean McCoy had high praise for the Knicks guard during an appearance on FSI. McCoy went so far as to make a bold comparison between Brunson and Golden State Warriors legend Stephen Curry.
“And this might not be popular because I’m a Steph Curry fan. But I would say one-on-one, I think Brunson scores better than Steph one-on-one. Just straight, get a ball, one-on-one,” McCoy said.

It’s a daring statement considering Curry’s status as one of the most gifted offensive players in NBA history. But McCoy doubled down on his take, even invoking Allen Iverson as a point of reference.
“The same thing with Allen Iverson. You watch the way they play defense? You know, Iverson can be itself. So I do think that Brunson, if he has the right team around him, because scoring is what he’s going to do. In this league, you need some scoring. And he gives you that,” he added.
