The Golden State Warriors are in a perilous position at the moment, having gone down 2-0 to the Sacramento Kings in the first round of the playoffs and losing Draymond Green to suspension.
It looks like they’re ready to do anything within their power to gain an advantage in Game 3, set for their Chase Arena on Thursday night, as they have banned Kings fans from entering the venue with cowbells.
Bob Myers likely had a very uncomfortable outing when the two teams faced each other in Sacramento for Game 2 as a fan made his life hell by constantly clanging on a cowbell right behind him. While the Warriors GM cannot control what goes on inside the Kings’ Golden 1 Center, he’s not going to risk getting cowbelled in his own house.
The Kings’ official Twitter account is letting their supporters know that any cowbells will be confiscated before entry and will only be returned after the game.
It certainly seems a petty decision from the Warriors, though desperate times do call for desperate measures. If keeping cowbells out of the arena is what helps them cut the Kings’ series lead in half, then why not?
They will have a whole lot more than noisy instruments to worry about with Draymond out though. The power forward will miss one game after being taken to task for stomping on Kings center Domantas Sabonis in Game 2, which has come as a shock to most people given the circumstances. But it is what it is.WANT MORE FROM TOTALPROSPORTS? FOLLOW US ON GOOGLE NEWS.
