Gilgeous-Alexander has officially been named the 2024-25 NBA MVP, setting him up for a record-breaking payday. According to ESPN’s Bobby Marks, he becomes eligible for a five-year, $380 million supermax deal in the 2026 offseason. This NBA record is $76 million per year. That annual salary would even surpass Shohei Ohtani’s, and since Shai Gilgeous-Alexander recently split with his agent, he will keep every cent without paying commission fees.
Already locked into a 5 year, $172 million contract, Gilgeous-Alexander qualifies for a $293 million extension this summer due to multiple All-NBA honors. His career earnings could reach $576 million by the end of his 14th NBA season, which is an extraordinary figure for the young star.
