The Minnesota Timberwolves have faced significant challenges this season. While Anthony Edwards has stepped up as the team’s leader, his on-court issues have contributed to the team’s struggles, leaving them eighth in the Western Conference with a 33-29 record.
Edwards recently served a one-game suspension after being ejected against the Lakers for picking up two technical fouls. The suspension proved costly, as he lost $242,393 in salary. Additionally, Edwards was fined $35,000 for leaving the court late.
The recent fine marked the fifth time Edwards has been penalized this season, bringing his total losses from fines, technical fouls, and suspension to $614,000. His issues began in November 2024, when he was fined $35,000 for making an obscene gesture during a game against the Sacramento Kings.

The penalties escalated over the months, including a $50,000 fine in January for making an obscene gesture toward a game official. During an interview in December, Edwards was fined $25,000 for using profane language. Later that month, the league issued a $100,000 fine after he used inappropriate language during a live television appearance.
