After Luka Doncic came into the Los Angeles Lakers, the Dallas Mavericks fans became increasingly enraged. After all, who would want their best player to be traded? However, the trade was not an absolute loss for the Mavericks. In fact, they acquired the services of the Lakers’ scoring machine, Anthony Davis. Davis was expected to fill in the shoes left by Doncic. With a lot of expectations on his shoulders, Anthony Davis failed miserably to deliver.
Now, he did not play loosely or his form hit a low. After coming to the Mavericks’ side, Davis suffered the worst fate possible. He got himself injured in the very first game for the Mavericks. Injuring his abductor back in February, 2025, Davis is expected to be out for 6 weeks.

Thus, there is no chance for the former Lakers star to return to the starting lineup against the New York Knicks. However, there is a glimmer of hope that Davis might be available to the Mavericks on Monday when they face the Brooklyn Nets. In a more positive sign, Davis’ injury status has been upgraded to questionable. Meanwhile, ahead of his injury, Davis had a resounding message for the Mavericks’ fans.
Anthony Davis Sent A Strong Message To The Mavericks’ Fans

Davis understood that the Dallas Mavericks’ fans are extremely unhappy with the trade. With their favorite 25-year-old star leaving, the fans had significant difficulties in adjusting to the changes. However, soon after coming to the team, Anthony Davis gave a reassuring reply.
“I know the whole the city was down because of the Luka thing. At the same time, you know, I know who I am as a player. I’m top 75 of all time, and I just want to let the Dallas fans like, ‘hey, I got you, I’m here now.’ So, like, I know you lost a,superstar Luka, but you also gain a superstar myself.” Davis said.
