Bradley Beal’s time with the Phoenix Suns has been far from ideal. After joining the team before last season, Beal was expected to form a dominant trio with Kevin Durant and Devin Booker. However, injuries and inconsistent performances have raised questions about his impact, especially considering his massive contract.
A recently shared graphic highlights just how costly Beal’s contract is for the Suns. Beal is set to earn $50.2 million in the 2024-25 season, $53.7 million in 2025-26, and $57.1 million in 2026-27. Beal is one of only two NBA players with an entire no-trade clause, and the other is LeBron James.
Objectively bad contract for trying to build a championship roster. We also need to stop evaluating players based on their contract. Bradley beal on a veteran minimum isnt a better player than he is now hes more valuable. Bradley beal is still a good player https://t.co/Yg55Hmf3ki

This season, Beal has already missed 30 games. His performance on the court has been underwhelming compared to his salary. Through 48 games, Beal has averaged 17.3 points, 3.4 rebounds, 3.6 assists, and 1.0 steals per game. Last season, he played just 53 games, averaging 18.2 points, 4.4 rebounds, 5.0 assists, and 1.0 steals per game.
Earlier this season, the Suns seemingly considered trading Beal, especially after he was benched following a blowout loss to the Indiana Pacers. The team’s interest in acquiring Jimmy Butler more fuel.
However, Beal remained unfazed, knowing that his no-trade clause gave him full control over any potential move. Despite the team’s struggles, Beal has refused to waive the clause.
Beal remains a solid player, but his value to the team is heavily scrutinized at his current salary. If he were on a veteran minimum deal, his contributions would be seen in a completely different light.

Bradley Beal Leaves Court Monday With A Hamstring Injury

The Suns saw a disappointing loss to the Los Angeles Lakers on Sunday. However, one of the biggest blows came when Bradley Beal was forced to exit the game early due to injury. ESPN’s Dave McMenamin updated after Beal’s exit, confirming that the Suns star was sidelined due to hamstring issues.
“Bradley Beal is out for the rest of the game with left hamstring soreness, per the Suns,” the report read.
Before leaving the court, Beal finished with just four points and two rebounds while shooting 2-for-6 from the field. As Phoenix is already facing challenges in building chemistry among their core players, Beal’s inconsistent presence and injury have made things even more difficult.
