Luka Doncic is now under immense pressure after joining the Los Angeles Lakers in a stunning mid-season trade. With LeBron James sidelined for a few weeks, the burden of leadership fell heavily on Doncic’s shoulders. His struggle was evident in their recent matchup against the Brooklyn Nets, where he fought hard to secure a win but ultimately fell short in a 108-111 defeat.
The Lakers are currently on a two-game losing streak, and their next challenge comes against the Milwaukee Bucks on Thursday. The pressure is mounting as Doncic has been the team’s primary scorer in LeBron’s absence. However, concerns are now growing as he is listed as questionable for the game against the Bucks.

The Lakers’ eight-game winning streak recently ended, causing them to slip from the second seed to the fourth spot in the Western Conference standings. The uncertainty surrounding Doncic’s availability now adds more to their worries.
The Lakers’ injury report for the game includes Jaxson Hayes, LeBron James, Rui Hachimura, Bronny James, and Maxi Kleber, who are all ruled out. On a positive note, Dorian Finney-Smith has recovered and will be available to play against the Bucks.
As for the Bucks, they will be without Bobby Portis Jr., who is serving a league suspension. Tyler Smith is doubtful due to back spasms, while Chris Livingston is questionable with a non-COVID illness. Meanwhile, Giannis Antetokounmpo and Damian Lillard are both listed as probable, dealing with a left calf strain and right groin soreness, respectively.

Reports suggest that Mavericks GM Nico Harrison was the first to approach the Lakers about the Doncic deal. However, Tim Hardaway has a different perspective. During an appearance on Run It Back, the former NBA star expressed his belief that the decision to trade Doncic was made at the ownership level rather than by the front office or coaching staff.
“I don’t think it was a this wasn’t a Jason Kidd, Nico Harrison, or Michael Finley’s decision. This was strictly the owner’s decision. It’s a business decision on their part, which is messed up for the Dallas fans. Hopefully, they wouldn’t move the team to Las Vegas,” Hardaway said.
Both Luka Doncic and Anthony Davis have now adjusted to their new teams. Davis remains confident in his ability to elevate the team to greater success with the Mavs. On the other hand, Luka has been thriving in his recent performances with the Lakers.
