Shai Gilgeous-Alexander And Nikola Jokic Go Against Each Other As The MVP Race Heats Up

During Game 5 of the tightly contested series between the Thunder and Nuggets, both the MVP candidates delivered an instant classic.
With the series tied 2-2, the stakes were at an all-time high as both Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and Nikola Jokic engaged in a thrilling duel.
While SGA had a great outing for his team, Jokic let his offensive play kick in and went for an incredible 44 points.
As the game unfolded, it became increasingly clear that the fourth quarter held the key to understanding the MVP narrative. Jokic’s performance was absolutely mesmerizing. It included 13 crucial points in the final quarter and a jaw-dropping circus three-pointer to tie the game at 103.

Yet, the Thunder’s supporting cast held the side tight and overshadowed his efforts.
While Jokic found himself carrying the weight of the Nuggets’ offense almost single-handedly, contributing 19 of his team’s 25 fourth-quarter points, Shai got great backing from his teammates.
And it’s safe to say, at least for now, that the Thunder star would surely have an edge over Jokic when it comes to team composition.
