Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and the Oklahoma City Thunder suffered a significant setback in Game 3 of the Western Conference Finals against the Minnesota Timberwolves. On one side, the Thunder were completely outplayed, ending the night with a crushing 42-point defeat. For Shai, it marked one of the lowest points in his recent playoff performances.
Now, with the eyes set on Monday’s Game 4 between the Thunder and the Timberwolves, fans wonder if Shai will be playing.
According to the official injury report released for the game, Gilgeous-Alexander is not listed. It confirms that he is healthy and will be available without any playing restrictions. The only player who will not suit up for the Thunder is Nikola Topić, who remains sidelined for a torn ACL.

In Game 3, Gilgeous-Alexander turned in his worst performance of the postseason. He managed just 14 points, along with two rebounds and six assists. His stat line also included only four field goals, four free throws, and four turnovers. It’s a far cry from the dominant showings fans had come to expect from the 2024–25 MVP.
The underwhelming performance drew jeers from the Minnesota crowd. During the second quarter, fans at the Target Center could be heard chanting “free throw merchant” at Gilgeous-Alexander.

Following the tough Game 3 loss, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander spoke about his mental approach heading into Game 4. He expressed a determined attitude. Shai also said that they need to bounce back strongly.
“You get punched, you get back up. It’s about responding. That’s what the next challenge is. We got punched in the mouth today. Next game, we’re either going to get back up or not, and we’ll lose the game. We have a decision to make, for sure,” Shai said.
Despite the Game 3 setback, the Thunder still lead the series 2-1. However, the Timberwolves’ dominant win shifted momentum in their favor and gave them a real opportunity to even the series in Game 4.
