If the Golden State Warriors hope to stay alive in the playoffs, winning Game 5 of the Western Conference semifinals against the Minnesota Timberwolves is a must. However, just before the crucial game, the team received another major blow regarding the health of their superstar, Stephen Curry.
Game 5 is set to be played on Wednesday, but the Warriors will have to face it without their leading guard. Curry has officially been ruled out due to a Grade 1 strain in his left hamstring. His absence puts the Warriors in a tough spot as they try to avoid elimination.

Curry sustained the injury during Game 1 of the series and has missed the last three games. Without him, the Warriors have struggled and lost every game in his absence.
In the only game he managed to play against the Timberwolves, Curry was on the court for just 13 minutes before getting hurt. In that short time, he scored 13 points, one rebound, and one assist, shooting 5-of-9 from the field.
Draymond Green Urges Patience With Stephen Curry’s Return

Following the Game 4 loss, Draymond Green spoke candidly about Curry’s injury and cautioned against rushing his return. Green shared that the team should not depend on Curry to come back prematurely just to save the series.

“No, we’re not going to Superman this thing. If he’s in a place where he can play, I’m sure he will. Him and Rick (Celebrini) and everybody will figure that out, but we don’t need Superman. Got to play the long game, so if he can, we know he will. But there’s no pressure. We got to figure out how to win whether he plays or not,” Green said.
Golden State currently trails 3-1 in the best-of-seven series. If they manage to win Game 5, they will still need to win both Game 6 and Game 7 to advance. A longer series could open the door for Curry to possibly return before the end of the semifinals.
