
Tragedy struck the hip hop community over the weekend when it was Nipsey Hussle was tragically murdered in front of his Marathon store in Los Angeles after a verbal altercation with suspected shooter Eric Holder led him to leave and return with a gun and shoot Nipsey multiple times before fleeing the scene.
The news struck a cord with the entire hip hop community as well as the sports community.
One of whom was J.R. Smith.
Taking to Instagram with the hashtag #LongLiveNip, the Cleveland Cavaliers guard showed off a new tattoo of Nipsey’s face on himself.
Aside from Smith’s tribute, Russell Westbrook also paid homage to his fallen friend by going out and posting a 20-20-20 game, the second such game to happen in NBA history. It was an act that added up to 60, which is a nod to Nipsey’s Rollin 60s Crip gang.
