The Los Angeles Clippers’ season came to an end on Saturday night as the Denver Nuggets dismantled them in a 120-101 Game 7 loss. While the entire team shared the disappointment of missing out on the Western Conference Semifinals, the moment felt heavier for James Harden.
For Harden, this wasn’t just another playoff loss. It marked the fourth time in his career that he’s lost a Game 7 with a different team. Previously, he experienced Game 7 heartbreaks with the Brooklyn Nets, Houston Rockets, and Philadelphia 76ers. Now, the Clippers join that unfortunate list.
What added to the frustration for many was Harden’s decision to leave Ball Arena without speaking to the media. NBA insider Tomer Azarly reported the incident shortly after the final buzzer.
“James Harden left Ball Arena without speaking to media,” Azarly posted.

This wasn’t the first time Harden avoided media duties, either. He reportedly skipped postgame interviews after each of the Clippers’ last three losses in the series.
Harden’s performance in Game 7 was far from inspiring. He finished with just seven points on 2-of-8 shooting from the field. While he managed to distribute the ball effectively, tallying 13 assists along with five rebounds, two steals, and two turnovers, his lack of scoring impact raised eyebrows once again.

Harden joined the Clippers with hopes of finally securing an elusive championship. He averaged 22.8 points, 5.8 rebounds, and 8.7 assists. In the 2025 playoff series, he posted 19.3 points, 7.9 assists, and 5.7 rebounds per game. But once again, when it mattered most, the postseason narrative stayed the same.
